Frequently asked questions

Why do Asda and Shell fuel prices differ?

Each retailer sets its own pump prices based on wholesale costs, location, and competition. Supermarket forecourts (Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury's) often price below motorway brands, but prices vary by site and region.

How often are UK fuel prices updated on CarVouch?

We sync from the official GOV.UK Fuel Finder service every 30 minutes. Retailers must report price changes within 30 minutes of any change at the pump.

How do I estimate my annual fuel cost?

Use our fuel cost calculator with your car's real-world MPG (or L/100km), annual mileage, and your preferred fuel brand. Real-world economy is often 15–25% lower than official WLTP figures.

Are diesel and petrol prices shown per litre?

Yes. UK pump prices are always quoted in pence per litre (p/L). Our calculator converts to pounds per litre for cost estimates.
