How the credit system works
- Run a free scan first. Enter a UK registration, and optionally the advert text, asking price and mileage. You don't need an account.
- Buy a pack when you need more. Buying a pack adds Full Vehicle Check credits to your CarVouch account. You need an account to buy and view Full Vehicle Checks.
- One credit = one car. Each Full Vehicle Check uses one credit on one registration.
- Credits never expire. Buy a pack of three while you shortlist cars and use the rest whenever you find the next one.
- Reports stay on your account, with a downloadable PDF.
There is no subscription and nothing renews automatically.
What's free
The free scan uses official government data and CarVouch's analysis:
- Full DVSA MOT history: every test, failure, defect and advisory.
- Mileage consistency across MOT readings, with flags for drops, jumps and gaps.
- DVLA vehicle details: tax status and due date, MOT status, make, colour, fuel type, engine size and CO2.
- An AI scan of the advert wording for red flags.
- A 0–100 risk score and a short AI summary.

What a Full Vehicle Check adds
- Experian provenance data: outstanding finance, stolen markers, insurance write-off categories, salvage auction records, number of keepers, plate changes, VIN check, and import, export and scrapped markers.
- The full AI report: a written analysis of the MOT and mileage history and the advert, structured red flags, questions to ask the seller, a viewing checklist, negotiation points, a verdict and a recommended next step.
- A PDF report you can download or share.
- Experian's £20,000 Data Guarantee for 12 months, subject to Experian's terms.

Paying, refunds and the app
- Payments are processed securely by Stripe or Square. Card payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay are supported where available. CarVouch never stores your card details.
- Purchases are non-refundable once completed. If a report fails because of a technical problem on CarVouch's side, the check is restored to your account.
- Full Vehicle Check packs are also available in the CarVouch iPhone app.
Is it worth paying for a Full Vehicle Check?
Run the free scan on every car you're interested in. Pay for a Full Vehicle Check once you like a car and before you pay a deposit, because finance, theft and write-off records can't be seen in free government data.
